Team Leader Test Team
Are you interested in being part of the Leadership Group for next year’s project – ER26?
As a team leader you have several key responsibilities in which the majority are centered around your team:
The main focus is ensuring that the team achieves success within its area of expertise, it is also of importance that you ensure the members well-being.
Other Responsibilities include:
Leading and actively participating in two workshops per week.
Participating in a leadership meeting once a week and arranging for any extra meetings with the team if needed. This includes a meeting on monday if you are TL for a technical team.
Participating in the strategic planning for both the team and leadership group throughout the project year.
Collaboration between the different teams amongst team leaders.
Responsibilities within the team include analyzing risks, establishing milestones, assessing progress and ensuring follow-ups.
The team leader for the test team is a multi-functional role. You will be dealing with lots of different people in a lot of different areas of the organisation. First off you are responsible for almost all of the organisation’s facilities, such as Flumes, the basement and the container. These spaces need to be organised, clean and also be able to store all of the organisation’s stuff. When doing this you need to be able to plan ahead and see what needs to be stored in the future and make place for it. The work can be very unpredictable and can vary a lot from workshop to workshop, but is also one of the most vital roles for the association’s quality of life. Offloading the caretaking from the other teams and management improves the overall quality of the project, and results in a better car at the end of the year.
As Team Leader, you will need to have a good oversight of the organisation, as well as being good at planning. Having responsibility for taking care of the facilities means being agile in your planning and leadership, as well as keeping the team motivated during very different day to day tasks. You also need to be observant and open minded, because people often have ideas that they don’t bring up because of time constraints. This is where you can shine, taking those ideas and together with your team bringing them to life.
The test team leader is also responsible for, as the name suggests, for organising all the tests that are to be done by the different teams. In order to do this you need to talk with multiple team leaders and understand what their needs are in testing. You need to be in contact with Mantorp Park in order to be able to book the race-track for testing. You also need to plan and understand what tools and equipment should be brought to every test, and do this efficiently in order to not overwork the team with loading and unloading the trailer.
Test team also has responsibility for a lot of other miscellaneous projects, for example a stiffness jig, trailer shelf and a lot of other projects that are requested by other teams and/or management. Under the test team umbrella you also have our older cars that need taking care of. These cars are meant for training drivers, PR and fun-having. The test teams systems have been moved to other teams due to some organisational restructuring. For the push bar, see the chassis team, and for the pit-stands check the packaging team.
