Team Leader Packaging

As a team leader you have several key responsibilities in which the majority are centered around your team:
The main focus is ensuring that the team achieves success within its area of expertise, it is also of importance that you ensure the members well-being.
Other Responsibilities include:
Leading and actively participating in two workshops per week.
Participating in a leadership meeting once a week and arranging for any extra meetings with the team if needed. This includes a meeting on monday if you are TL for a technical team.
Participating in the strategic planning for both the team and leadership group throughout the project year.
Collaboration between the different teams amongst team leaders.
Responsibilities within the team include analyzing risks, establishing milestones, assessing progress and ensuring follow-ups.
As the leader of the new packaging team you will get the opportunity to start a team from scratch. This means you will need to gather information regarding the systems from different teams in order for the team to be efficient in their work. You will be the link between your team and the leadership group and thus you will need to cooperate with the rest of the leadership group.
The systems you’ll be responsible for includes the packaging of the electronic boxes for the power electronics and low voltage systems. But also the packaging of the cooling system and brake lines. The team will also be responsible for implementing the interface points for the pit-stands and the stands themselves. The team will also be responsible for making sure the mounts on the frame are being utilized in the best way possible.
The overall goal for the team is to keep the packaging of the car neat and tidy but also easy to work on. Keeping the car easy to work on and thus easy to troubleshoot is essential to improve the turnover time during testing and competitions. As the team leader for the packaging team you will need to have frequent communication with the electronics team regarding the design and placement of boxes and their parts but also the chassis, vehicle dynamics and aero teams.
As the team leader for the packaging team one of your main tasks will be to plan your team’s work and budget but also to make sure your team’s work is synchronised with the other teams. You should always strive to keep a good spirit within the team.
To summarize, in the role as team leader for packaging you’ll be responsible for a completely new team with a lot of internal connections, this means you will meet and cooperate with a lot of members throughout the association. Lastly you will get an unique experience as a leader in a cool project with a high tempo.
