About the team

The electronics team is responsible for all electronic systems, both on and off the car. This includes high voltage for the tractive system which “powers” the car and low voltage electronics used for safety systems, control systems and data acquisition etc. Because of this we are requiring a variety of engineers to fulfill our purpose and reach our goal.

About the work and responsibilities

This role is responsible for the wire harness which includes the wires that are used for power and communication of all low voltage systems on the car. Since there are many systems and sensors in the car the routing of all wires requires good planning and creative problem solving. Your task is to design the new wire harness for the car and after that build it together with another member of the team.

We are looking for

What is necessary for the role:

  • Cable routing and management 
  • Basic electrical concepts and electrical troubleshooting

What is meritorious for the role:

  • Experience soldering
  • Courses in electronics
  • Connector crimping and connector assembly
  • Experience in how to design wire harnesses
  • Has previously used wiring and harness design software (eg. RapidHarness)

You are:

  • Interested in electronics and cable management
  • Responsible, structured and solution oriented
  • Friendly and good at collaborating with others

Estimated workload

The estimated workload will be around 10 hours per week, divided into workshops on Mondays and Wednesdays between 17:15 – 21:00. However, some personal work and research might be needed outside the scheduled hours. We also have a lunch meeting on Fridays. No working hours are expected to be spent during exam periods!
