Team Leader – Tech Team

About the Company:

We are a Formula Student team consisting of motivated students from various disciplines, with a passion for engineering, innovation and teamwork. Our team competes in national and international competitions, with a goal of designing, building and racing a single-seater race car.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as the Team Leader of the Tech Team. As the Tech Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a group of talented students in the design, development and testing of the vehicle’s technology systems. You will work closely with other team leaders to ensure that the car meets all technical requirements and is ready for competition.


  • Manage and lead the Tech Team, ensuring that all members are contributing effectively to the project
  • Plan and coordinate the development of all technology systems, including powertrain, electronics, and data acquisition
  • Work with other team leaders to ensure that the car meets all technical requirements and regulations for competition
  • Create and maintain project schedules and timelines, ensuring that all deadlines are met
  • Manage the budget for the Tech Team, including the purchase of materials and equipment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors and suppliers
  • Mentor and train team members to ensure they are learning and growing in their roles
  • Ensure that all work is conducted safely and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards


  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of students
  • Experience in engineering, particularly in the areas of powertrain, electronics, or data acquisition
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in a similar role in a Formula Student team is preferred but not required
  • A passion for motorsports and engineering
