About the team
The sponsorship team is the team responsible for recruiting sponsors and partners to support us on our way to design and build a racecar to compete with. Sponsors are a vital part of our success, since they contribute with things such as material, tools, software and monetary support. To be a part of the Sponsorship team means that you are the main contact between sponsors and the organisation and its current needs. You get to meet and work with many different companies while at the same time always listening and working with all the other Teams to hear what potential sponsors people are in need of at the moment. New this year is that we will be planning and hosting a fair together with the sponsors.
About the work and responsibilities
As a sponsor contact you will be in charge of upholding relationships with our current sponsors as well as seeking out new sponsorships. It is important that you are quick to act and that you have a drive to reach out to people as this is essential when talking to potential sponsors. Every sponsor contact will have the responsibility for a respective team/s within the organisation, and be their main contact when a new idea or need for a sponsor occurs.
As a fair coordinator, you are responsible for the planning and execution of the sponsor fair. It is important that you are organized, skilled in planning, good at communication, flexible, and have strong negotiation skills. The fair coordinator will also work with marketing.
The estimated workload per week is around 10 – 12 hours. We have workshops on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 PM to 9 PM, and attendance is expected, but might vary during the term.
Who we are looking for
The most important qualification for a potential member of this team is that you are driven and good at taking initiative. This is important because it is our responsibility to drive the relationship with our partners forward and consistently keep in touch with them and try to develop the relationship. The necessary skill for sponsor contact is knowing how to keep a professional discussion with companies through emails, phone calls and meetings. You will learn most of these skills while being a part of our team, but it is meritorious to be social and organised, since this enables you to present a clear picture of our organisation to the potential partner in a professional way.

You will learn most of these skills while being part of our team, but it is a valuable merit to have had the responsibility for or been involved in the planning of a fair before since that is what will be your primary responsibility.
