About the team

The Driverless team is responsible for both the software and mechanical systems required to make our formula student car autonomous. We are ten people in total with five focusing on the software. We are experimenting with making a remote controlled car driverless this year to create a foundation for future projects on the real car.

About the role

The software trainee role will be based around your experiences and what you know. You will work with the team on different problems to get a better understanding about the driverless project in general. This role is perfect if you are interested in driverless technology and want to get practical experience in the area.

 

Competencies needed

Some programming experience is required for this position. We are mainly using Python and C++ but experience with other languages is also appreciated. Experience in ROS is meritorious but far from required.

You are:

  • Comfortable in a group environment
  • Self going
  • Creative

The estimated workload per week is around 10 hours.
