Note that we are looking for two Electronic Engineers for the Power Electronics Team.

About the team

The Power Electronics team is responsible for all electrical systems which contribute to the propulsion of the car; the key systems to achieve this are the Battery, Inverter and Motor. We make sure that the car has a power source, a motor and that the driver has the means to control the motor. We currently recruiting Electronics Engineers for the following systems:

  • Tractive System Active Light (TSAL) – A safety component that alerts people in the proximity of the car when high voltage is present outside the battery container. 
  • Tractive System Control Unit (TSCU) – Handles the activation/deactivation of the high current path to the inverter. 

The problems our system engineers face are versatile and you will work together with other system engineers from multiple disciplines. As a member of the Power Electronics team you will gain an excellent understanding of what’s required to build an electric vehicle, both in theory and in practice.

About the role

As an Electronics Engineer you’ll be making the detailed design and building one of the above mentioned systems based on design rules, needs and needs of other connected systems. A first version of all the systems already exists and when you join the team you will be replacing or working together with one of our current Electronics Engineers. The work will consist of: 

  • Designing circuits
  • PCB layout
  • Assembling and soldering PCBs

Competencies needed

  • Has completed a basic course in electronics
  • Has worked with electronics as a hobby (is meritorious)
  • Experience with designing circuits and PCB’s (is meritorious)
  • Experience with working hands on with soldering and wiring (is meritorious)

  • Interested in electronics and want to extend your knowledge
  • Structured in your work
  • Good at collaborating and solving problems together with others

The estimated workload per week is 15 hours.
